This is the easiest gift to put together for your favorite dog mom or dad this holiday season…
I seriously questioned if this could even be counted as a blog post. Throwing this DIY Dog Treat Christmas/Holiday gift together is so easy! It’s perfect for last-minute gift-giving. If you’re able to make it to the grocery, you can find everything you need there. If you’re ordering through Amazon, I’ve included some links below with my favorite brands for the ingredients needed.
What you’ll need for this DIY Dog Treat Christmas Gift
- A cute holiday container, glass jar, or you can just use the container your quick oats are packaged in. I found the holiday container in the picture above for $1 at my local Dollar Tree. The options are really endless on the type of container you use.
- Quick Cooking Rolled Oats
- A jar of dog-safe peanut butter. I love Crazy Richard’s Single-Ingredient Peanut Butter. However, you can really use any peanut butter as long as it does not contain Xylitol. Xylitol is considered toxic to dogs.
- Honey. I found these Mini Honey packs from Nature Nate’s on Amazon in a large pack at a great price. They’re seriously perfect for this gift, and you can include as many packs as you want in your gift bag or basket. The honey is also optional and should not be given to dogs under one year old. It lightly sweetens the recipe but is not a mandatory ingredient.
- A cute holiday gift bag or basket. Any dog mom will adore any dog-themed gift bag! I fell in love with the Labrador gift bag I found above.
- My printer-friendly recipe card. Click here for the full-size image.
The best part is that this recipe makes very little mess. Your beloved dog mom/dad will only need a mixing bowl and container to store the treats in. These treats also make GREAT pill pockets for dogs. If you know a dog mom or dad who has a senior dog or any dog that needs to take medication – these No-Bake Dog Treats are perfect!
Now just build your DIY Dog Treat Christmas gift…
Ok, now all you have to do is pour your quick oats into your holiday container. You don’t even have to measure anything! The recipe requires one cup of quick oats, and your container will more than likely hold much more than one cup. Ideally, they should be able to make this recipe multiple times. What’s awesome about this gift is you can make a few of these DIY Dog Treat Holiday Gifts at a pretty low cost for all of the dog lover’s on your list.
Once you’ve sealed your oats into their holiday container, just put your peanut butter, honey (if you chose to include it), and the recipe card into your gift bag. SO EASY!
Always consult your Vet before introducing new food or treats to your dog. These treats are supplemental and are not meant to replace a well balanced diet for your dog.
