If you can’t tell, I love making homemade dog treats. It’s fun, I know exactly what’s going into the treats, and my little taste testers are always thrilled with my creations. Every time I see a dog treat mix at the store or online, I have to pass on it. So many have an overabundance of ingredients, or they have an ingredient that one or more of my dogs are sensitive to.

I had to do a double-take when I came across the DIY dog treat mix from Knead Love Bakeshop. They have a few different recipes, so I am willing to bet at least one will fit your needs. They aren’t overloaded with ingredients either, which is what I love! I went with the Peanut Butter Banana recipe, and it only has FOUR ingredients. How awesome is that?!
I love making DIY dog treats but I do not love cleaning up after the baking process is done! Knead Love Bakeshop solved that problem for me too. The only tool you will need is a baking sheet or silicone mold. The container that the treat mix comes in offers a mixing bag, which then turns into a piping bag, and THEN turns into a storage jar for your baked treats. I’m literally giddy telling you about this. Quick Guide for the Easiest DIY Dog Treats from Knead Love Bakeshop
I thought that I knew how to make an easy DIY dog treat, but Knead Love Bakeshop took it to the next level. Making this quick photo guide was actually more difficult than the process of making the dog treats, ha! I also want to mention that they don’t waste paper by sending the instructions! You will just scan the QR code with your phone, or you can access the instructions from their website.
Scan the QR code with your phone for instructions or visit their site. Gently pull out the mixing bag from the container. Pour treat mix into the bag and untwist the lid to remove.
Fill with water to the marked line on your jar. Pour water into bag and lightly knead for 3 minutes. You’ll be left with a dough that can be piped onto a baking sheet or silicone molds.
I also want to mention that Knead Love Bakeshop’s instructions state to use a parchment-lined baking sheet. I am a rebel and wanted to see how the treats turned out in a silicone mold. I am happy to report that they turned out great!

Thanksgiving Dog Treats
Just a little thought to end this entry. I know we’re all probably going to be experiencing the holidays a little differently this year. COVID-19 is still restricting our ability to gather into large groups. I know my husband and I will be staying home and face-timing all of our close friends and family. How fun would it be to send a Knead Love treat mix to your family members? You could all bake the treats on Thanksgiving and face-time each other while the family dog(s) get to enjoy them.
