He sparked my love for making homemade dog treats because of his food sensitivities. So I am happy to celebrate him this year with a Blueberry Apple No Bake Pupcake.

This Apple Blueberry No Bake Pupcake is fantastic because you don’t have to turn on your oven, it only contains healthy ingredients, and it’s pretty easy to whip up.

Blueberry: Low-calorie, they contain antioxidants, Vitamins C and K, fiber, and their nutrients support the immune system.
Apples (Unsweetened Applesauce): High in fiber, Vitamins A & C, and is a good source of antioxidants.
Oats: Oats are an excellent wheat alternative for dogs sensitive to wheat. Oats are a healthy carbohydrate and contain Vitamin B, Copper, Magnesium, Calcium, and Iron.
Peanut Butter (single ingredient): Source of protein, healthy fats, Vitamin B, and Vitamin E. [Single ingredient peanut butter is best, but always make sure the peanut butter you’re serving your pup does NOT contain Xylitol.]
Coconut Oil: Aid digestion, can promote skin health, help bad breath, fights harmful bacteria.
Honey: (optional – do not give honey to dogs under one year of age): Antioxidant, Vitamins A, C, and E, immunity booster.

What you will need for the Blueberry Apple No Bake Pupcake

You will need all of the ingredients listed above. The honey is optional and can only be fed to dogs over one year of age. Honey will not make or break this recipe – it just adds a nice sweetness.

I love the Coconut Oil from Natural Dog Company, but as long as you’re using organic, single-ingredient coconut oil, then you should be OK. If this is your dog’s first time trying coconut oil, introduce it slowly. Coconut oil is generally OK for dogs but can cause loose stool in some dogs.

The ASPCA is an excellent resource for learning about safe foods to share with your dog. I used a mini springform pan for this recipe, but you could easily divide the recipe into 4-5 cupcake molds. You will also need a food processor for this recipe.
